What did you do?
In our last year of undergrad, a couple of friends and I wanted to create a safe space where we could freely unpack our collective experiences at the intersection of Filipinx culture and pop culture. We chose to reclaim the word “Suplada,” usually used to describe someone who is full of themselves. Why? Because we have a lot to be proud of.
I continued to produce the podcast solo, using this platform to showcase the talents and stories of our community.
The show has encountered many obstacles over the years, but the audience remains some of the most interactive and supportive I’ve ever met. This is what inspires me to continue this work, no matter how long it takes.
